Conditions of carriage
Last reviewed August 2026.
Fleetable carries goods under the RHA Conditions of Carriage 2026, in force from 1 January 2026. Liability for goods lost, misdelivered or damaged is limited to £1,300 per tonne on their gross weight. Goods-in-transit cover is held by Fleetable and extends to the operators it subcontracts, so you contract with Fleetable and claim against Fleetable whoever is driving.
The conditions apply to every consignment we move unless a signed contract says otherwise in writing. A copy is available on request, and we will send it with any quotation that asks for it.
Limit of liability
Liability for goods lost, misdelivered or damaged is limited to £1,300 per tonne on the gross weight of the goods affected. That limit is a term of the conditions above, not a Fleetable policy, and it has held across every edition the association has published.
If the value of a consignment exceeds what that limit would cover, tell us before it moves. Cover can be arranged for the specific load, and the cost is quoted with the route rather than assumed.
Insurance
Goods-in-transit cover is held by Fleetable and extends to work performed by the operators we subcontract. You contract with Fleetable and you claim against Fleetable, whoever is driving the vehicle on the day. The certificate is available on request.
Operators are vetted before a first route and we ask for the insurance and compliance paperwork the specific route requires — a chilled multi-drop and a dedicated ambient run are not the same job.
Claims
Notify us in writing as soon as a loss, misdelivery or damage is found. The conditions set the time limits and what has to accompany a notification, and they are short — a claim raised late can be refused on the timing alone, so tell us on the day you find it rather than at the end of a reconciliation cycle.
Proof of delivery for every drop is kept and handed over on request, which is usually what settles a question about whether goods arrived before anyone reaches a claim.
